Problem – syntura

Problem

The polymer industry faces a critical challenge: traditional plastics like polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) are derived from fossil fuels and persist in the environment for centuries. Despite their excellent performance properties, these materials contribute significantly to plastic pollution and climate change. The industry needs sustainable alternatives that maintain the same performance while enabling a true circular economy.
Lösung – syntura

Lösung

The future of plastics requires three essential properties working together: recyclable, 100% biobased, and biodegradable. Our PBS (Polybutylene Succinate) meets all these requirements, offering a comprehensive solution for the circular economy. Unlike conventional plastics, PBS can be mechanically recycled, is derived entirely from renewable resources, and biodegrades under appropriate conditions, creating a truly sustainable material cycle.
Produkt – syntura

Produkt

We provide a comprehensive solution based on polybutylene succinate (PBS) variants and its copolymers. Our PBS types are tailored in synthesis with respect to their molecular structure (linear and branched), molecular composition, and molecular weight. Our PBS has improved flow properties (MFI) ready-to-use in industrial settings.
With regard to many plastic properties, PBS is the most versatile biopolyester with similar properties to PE. It is recyclable, compatible with existing sorting technology, and reusable as mechanical recyclate. Industrial partners confirm the successful use of our new PBS grades with their production tools as drop-in material. Food compliance is independently approved. A few examples can be seen here.
