Problem – PALPRINT

Problem

Industrial packaging is still manual, inefficient, and waste-intensive.
Protective packaging for high-value goods requires tooling, long lead times, and often results in oversized, single-use solutions.

At the same time:
* 80 million tons of packaging waste are generated annually in the EU
* Increasing regulation (PPWR) demands recyclability and material reduction
* Skilled labor shortages limit scalability

Existing solutions are fragmented (design, production, material) and lack flexibility for dynamic supply chains.
Lösung – PALPRINT

Lösung

In an ideal situations B2B customers don't need to bother regarding
* packaging design
* packaging manufacturing
* material supply / procurement

PALPRINT digitizes and automates the entire packaging process:
* Generative design software converts product data into optimized packaging geometries
* On-site additive manufacturing eliminates tooling and logistics overhead, using different processes. The Fraunhofer patented FoAM process allows in-situ 3D foaming of sustainable material
* Circular material system enables reuse of recycled monomaterials

Result:
“Digital in, Packaging out.” – fully automated, scalable, and circular.
Produkt – PALPRINT

Produkt

PALPRINT is a modular System-as-a-Service that digitalizes and automates industrial packaging through three integrated components:

1.) Design Software: Generates optimized packaging (inlays, trays) from CAD, scans, or smartphone video (Volumera - revolutionary video2packaging approach), incl. ERP/PLM integration

2.) Production Units: On-site additive manufacturing (FFF & FoAMprint) enabling tool-less, flexible, and decentralized production

3.) Material Platform (ResiLOG): Closed-loop recycling, material tracking, and circular supply

The system enables a seamless digital workflow from product data to packaging production and recycling.

Outcome: On-demand, customized, and circular packaging directly at the customer site – without tooling, storage, or complex logistics.
Alleinstellung – PALPRINT

Alleinstellung

PALPRINT delivers a defensible system approach combining proprietary software, patented processes, and integrated operations:

* Proprietary generative design software and Video2packaging software module
* Patented / patent-pending processes (e.g. FoAMprint) enabling ultra-light, high-performance packaging. FGF-Printer modifications. Specific Marking Technology.
* Material management platform. Integrated system stack: software + production + material loop – not replicable as a single-point solution

Data & workflow lock-in through ERP/PLM integration and usage-based optimization
Hardware-agnostic platform enabling fast rollout and scaling across industries

Result: A protected, software-defined packaging infrastructure with strong technological and operational barriers to entry.
Geschäftsmodell – PALPRINT

Geschäftsmodell

PALPRINT operates a System-as-a-Service model with recurring and scalable revenues:

* Integration Fee: 3–5k€ one-time
* Subscription: 30–50k€ ARR per system
* Consumables: 5–12k€ ARR (usage-based)

Upselling:
Multi-site rollouts, additional production modules, advanced software features, advanced materials, and higher material usage.

Services: Engineering, maintenance, training, and analytics.

Result: Land-and-expand model with growing ARR and high customer lifetime value.

Kunde / Markt – PALPRINT

Kunde / Markt

PALPRINT operates in the industrial and protective packaging market, focusing on manufacturers, logistics providers, machinery companies, automotive suppliers, electronics, MedTech, and industrial equipment sectors with sensitive or high-value products.

The company addresses the growing demand for automated, sustainable, and flexible packaging solutions driven by increasing labor shortages, supply-chain volatility, and new circular economy regulations such as the EU PPWR.

PALPRINT’s ideal customers are industrial companies with recurring packaging needs, complex product portfolios, high SKU variability, or costly manual packaging processes. The platform enables customers to generate and produce custom protective packaging and inlays on-demand directly at or near their facilities.

The global industrial packaging market exceeds 90 billion € and is undergoing transformation toward digitalized, recyclable, and locally produced packaging systems.
Team – PALPRINT

Team

PALPRINT was founded by an interdisciplinary team:
* Paul Lindner (CEO, Industrial Logistics & Business Development) — 10+ years experience in industrial spare-parts logistics, packaging workflows, and transport within the German armed forces.
* Andreas Ribul-Olzer (COO, Operations & Speaker) — operations, investor relations, presentations; background in material research, recycling, and automotive quality management.
* Steffen Vogelsang (Generative Design & Software Advisor) — foundation of GenDesign software; repeat founder with prior exit in generative design for AM and former product ownership role at Hexagon.
