Problem
In many technical applications, friction and wear create high costs and risks:- High maintenance and lubrication costs due to regular relubrication
- Risk of contamination in sensitive areas (e.g. food industry, medical technology, cleanroom)
- Limitations with hard-to-access components or sealed systems
- Conventional low-friction plastics are often not powerful enough, and frequently contain PFAS
- PFAS are toxic for the environment and humans and their use in the EU is already restricted and more regulations are being proposed by ECHA
The market needs robust, maintenance-free and clean plastic solutions that operate without external lubrication.
Lösung
We have developed a proprietary, material-integrated lubrication technology.The lubrication mechanism is directly integrated into the plastic material.
A combined architecture of embedded lubricant reservoirs with liquid lubricants and tribologically active additives automatically builds up a lubricating film under friction.
No external lubrication is required.
