Problem
The economy is facing a massive shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the mechanical engineering and IT sectors1. At the same time, the economic pressure on companies to invest in digitalization is increasing in order to create a basis for necessary productivity increases. Small and medium-sized companies in particular have a very limited budget for IT services.A major challenge for companies is also to connect the wealth of different communication channels and network the individual systems. It is true that machine protocol standards are constantly being developed further. However, these are still far from being as standardized and intuitive to use as they need to be, especially for companies without the relevant technical expertise. Furthermore, most companies have an abundance of different systems, as well as old systems that are not yet equipped with the new communication standards. These machines need to be digitized in order for companies to achieve competitiveness.

Data Coffee GmbH develops software for the flexible acquisition, forwarding and modification of machine and sensor data. Our products aim to ensure that the reading of machine and system data as a basic function of digitization can be implemented by everyone without having to take a high financial risk or initiate lengthy individual developments.

Geschäftsmodell
We distribute our products according to a uniform licensing procedure. There are two models:- The one-time license, which is intended for customers who integrate our software into their own products and distribute it as part of a solution. The one-time license can be extended by a service & update contract.
- The annual license, which offers end users in particular a transparent and flexible solution for adapting the software to changing needs
The license allows the generation of a certain number of connections and the reading of a certain number of variables on these connections. The type of connection or readout characteristics do not play a role in the pricing to date.
We also offer starter packages, which consist of a basic training course, a contingent of support services and an annual license.

Kunde / Markt
Our solution can be used in all manufacturing companies with partially and fully automated production processes. In particular, we see sustainable application potential for companies with a machine park of more than 10 machines and a company size of more than 50, preferably more than 250, employees.There are no restrictions on specific sectors or the presence of certain machines, so the market potential in Germany, Europe and other industrialized nations alone is immense. In Germany alone, there are more than 86,000 manufacturing companies in our target group.
Team
The founding team, consisting of the partners, has around 50 years of combined experience in research and industrial projects with a focus on data provision and analytics. As trained computer scientists in an environment of engineers and mechanical engineers, they know about the need to bring together a rapidly changing IT world with the requirements of a stable production environment.The solution licensed by Data Coffee was developed back in 2014 and has since been continuously tested and further developed by the founding team in Europe-wide research and industry projects in various sectors.
Since September 2022, our team has been supported by Dr. Aline Defranceski, who has 10 years of experience in pre-development and business development in a medium-sized world market leader for automation components and brings extensive expertise in innovation management, technology transfer and IP protection as well as in the technology trends of digitized automation and robotics.
Invest in the future of manufacturing
We need EUR 650k for the further development of our existing data distribution technology to the next level of ai driven visualisation, which we will invest in building up a development and sales team over the next two years. We will break even in year 3. In the fifth year, we will already achieve a profit of over 10 million EUR.
